Suruchi Sangha, 2011

Durga Puja Theme: Continuing its tradition of recreating a glimpse of a Indian states Suruchi Sangha Durga Puja Committee this year chose Kashmir and there theme is the effects of global warming and pollution on Kashmir. The exhibition area with melting glaciers gave a feel of present day life in Kashmir. Drying lakes, deserted Shikaras and mountains bereft of snow conveyed a picture of environment degradation. The Central Structure is inspired from Kangri - a wicker basket stuffed with burning coal. They have used various Kashmiri woods design, carpet works and paintings in the whole area.
